The cheers, the support, the atmosphere; it all builds up to that magic moment when you cross the finish line and you’ve done it! It doesn’t really matter what time you did it in or who you beat, the fact is you did it. It’s that feeling that only you know, as you wear your medal with pride and celebrate with your friends and family feeling completely exhausted but invincible.

So go on, get signed up for this 10 mile tour of the Portsmouth coast today, be your greatest, and help us to raise those very import funds that can help us save the lives of many.

The Simplyhealth Great South 5k takes place on Saturday 20 October 2018 and is just a shorter version of the main course; the perfect solution if you’re just starting your running journey, are out of practice or have been injured.

August news

29 cases were received through the Swinfen Telemedicine system this month from Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, China, Ethiopia, Gambia, Iraq, Nepal, Yemen and a general enquiry from Burkina Faso asking for advice.

A case was received from a new link in Ethiopia and 7 cases came through via our unique Swinfen Mobile App.

 

 

 

New Link, New Country!

A new Swinfen Telemedicine link has been set up to a Women and Children’s Hospital in Syria (also a new country for Swinfen). This is an acute and Outpatient service with Telehealth Teaching facility. They offer Maternity care, Neonatal/ Infant/ Child care, Nutritional Support, Family Planning, Haematology and Oncology. There are 30 Doctors and 50 nurses offering medical care. These services will be free to those patients that are unable to pay.

New Link in Tanzania

Shirati KMT hospital is one of only two hospitals in the Tarime District, Tanzania. Shirati Hospital has 150 beds which at times are shared by more than one patient. 10 Doctors, 10 Assistant medical officers and 20 nurses all do their best to provide the medical care that is needed. With Charity drive, the hospital serves many of the local population who has no health insurances and due to the extreme poverty of the area have little money for health care services.

Shirati Hospital provides many medical services: Surgery and In-patient services; Pediatrics ward, Maternity ward, Female ward, Male ward,  Infusion Unit, Blood transfusion. Out-patient services; Pharmacy,  Laboratory, Radiology and X-ray Unit, Maternal, Ante Natal Care and RCH unit,  Family Planning, HIV Clinic, Ultrasound. The hospital is now moving on to initiate with electronic Medical Records.
